SICILY. Leontini. Circa 430-425 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 17.00 g, 9 h). Laureate head of Apollo to left. Rev. LEON-TI-NON Head of a lion with open jaws to left; above, to left and below, three barley grains; to right, laurel leaf. Boehringer, Münzgeschichte, 55 (same dies). HGC 2, 671. Rizzo pl. XIV, 4 (same dies). SNG ANS 257 (same dies). The usual small die break in Apollo's hair and the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, extremely fine.
